The relationship between citizens and politicians is very complex. A bridge between the two of them has been building over the years, leading up to a new form of government, a parliament that collaborates with the people more than ever before. Delphine’s talk will illustrate the impact and the power a citizen has in our politics and in creating our laws. The politician is challenged by the high expectations of the people and scrutinized mercilessly by the media.
Factors such as representativity, honesty, and transparency are expected of them. However, Delphine highlights the importance to consider that the politician is also above a nything else, a citizen. This new equilibrium leads up to a new era of governing, one that is closer to the people. Born in 1988, I obtained a HES nursing diploma in 2011, and I worked at the HUG and Clinique des Grangettes. I was also an assistant and teacher at the HEdS. In 2014, I obtained a CAS in Clinical Evaluation and in 2016 I obtained my MBA with a specialization in Risk Management. I then started working as a project manager for the Geneva Breast Center and became the Center’s administrative director by the end of 2018.
On the political side, I have been active in the PDC since 2011. I joined the Grand Conseil in November 2017 and was re-elected in April 2018. This experience in a cantonal parliament allows me to understand and participate actively in the legislative process. Mother of two, Alice, born October 1, 2016, and Adrien, born May 6, 2018, I am passionate about sports like running, trail running and swimming. The combination of my activities excites me and the different aspects of them mutually enrich my daily life.
